This annual event takes place in order to reward individual personalities in five categories each for their outstanding achievements in the ICT industry. All applications of the candidates are evaluated by a high-calibre independent panel which are then awarded as part of the Albanian ICT Awards.

Among the awardees and panel members many high-profile personalities from business and politics joined this event who together with the approximately 200 invited national and international guests gave the festive gala event a perfect frame.

In his speech Minister Pollo brought out his recognition and the importance of this Event – not only for the Albanian ICT industry. He congratulated the organizers for this event, the nominees and winners for their outstanding achievements and called on to continue to support talents, creativity and research to the development of the ICT industry in Albania and the region.

Minister Pollo’s remarks were picked up by the CIO at Raiffeisen Bank Albania Mr. Enkelejd Zotaj and the CIO of Vodafone Albania Mr. Enri Prodani in their speeches in which they reaffirmed the full support of their companies for the development of the Albanian ICT industry.

The Minister of Finance of the Republic of Kosovo, Ramadan Avdiu rewards Bardh Lohaj the prize winner in the category „Diploma Thesis of the year“.

At the conclusion Dino Walsh, Managing Director of ICTSmedia, referred in his speech on the enormous business potential and opportunities for international companies, especially through the good and close cooperation with the government, whose present representatives he thanked for in this context.

AUK’s main auditorium hall in Pristina was filled with professionals and experts from the ICT business in which Mr. Kushtrim Shala, the representative of ICTSmedia, presented the actual status in terms of development, results and the progress between the two workshops (the one in Tirana, which was held on February 15th, and the second one, which was held today in Pristina). Shala once again encouraged all those who are working within the ICT business to use the remaining days, until April 13th, in order to apply for one of the five categories of the Albanian ICT Awards 2013 competition.

Mr. Visar Jasiqi, the Director of the Institute of Training and Development at AUK held a presentation on behalf of the supporter of this organisation, the American University in Kosovo (AUK).

On behalf of ICTSmedia’s strategic partner “Dritan Hoxha, the Director, Mrs. Vjollca Dako welcomed the participants and congratulated ICTSmedia the organiser of the Albanian ICT Awards for this initiative spread nationwide. On Friday, February 15^th, the first Albanian Awards on Information and Communication Technology, on individual achievement and innovation, was officially launched. Professionals, who have successfully completed a project on ICT during the year 2012, have the opportunity to expose their creativity through the “2012 Albanian ICT Awards” contest. A jury, composed by elite individuals of the ICT world will assess and appraise the candidates.

The first workshop, organized at “Protik” Innovation Center, comprised a detailed description of the Albanian ICT Awards event as well as a brief description of the ICTS Media, the event organizing company, licensed by International Data Group (IDG) and, at the same time, a regional leader of technology media.

Representatives of ICTS Media said that the “Albanian ICT Awards” prices are the symbol of gratitude and appreciation for the creative work of individuals and teams who have managed to impact on the development of innovative ideas, professionalism of several business sectors, development of technology education system curricula, built of creative strategies, by developers, programmers, software architects on mobile, web, desktop, online services etc.

Edlira Kasaj and Vjollca Dako, managers and representatives of “Protik” Innovation Center and “Dritan Hoxha” Foundation, supporting and partner institutions since the beginning of the project, appreciated the event for the novelty it brings on ICT Albanian industry.
